“On behalf of the board, I’d like to thank the Singh Foundation for their generous donation. These funds will directly support three of our schools by providing opportunities and resources for students, including after-school programs and new sports equipment. This will support our students on their path to success – both in and out of school.”

Summary

Our first year of operation began in September 2022, and continued through to the end of 2023. In that time, we provided the Surrey School District with $77,908 in funding for school programs, Jumpshot Generosity with $51,464, as well as funds for the Surrey Food Bank, Heads Up Guys Mental health and the Surrey Hospital Foundation. As our first year of operations, we established a relationship with the Surrey Schools (“SD36”) to fund programs at local Secondary Schools where fund raising is a challenge. Surrey Schools commented:

“We recognize that several of our learners require support beyond the classroom and strive to provide safe school communities where students feel supported in a multitude of ways. Your kindness enabled us to provide a diverse range of support, which ensured our students were able to thrive within their school community and stay focused on their learning”

Jumpshot Generosity

The Singh Foundation is pleased to partner with Jumpshot Generosity, an initiative that empowers underserved and at-risk youth in British Columbia, through the transformative power of basketball.

In collaboration with Public Schools as well as community centres, Jumpshot Generosity provides Youth with opportunities to play and learn valuable sport and life skills. Participants in our programs do not always have an opportunity to join organized sports due to financial and or societal barriers. Jumpstart Generosity’s goal is to provide a safe inclusive environment where Youth can play, learn and have opportunities to spend quality time with mentors at no cost to participants.
